When we talk about immortality, it’s important to define it first. The Encyclopedia of Philosophy defines immortality as one’s indefinite and continuous existence even after death (of their body more specifically, as some resemblance of consciousness, mind or soul has to remain).
Our most common interpretation of immortality comes from religion, as many of them talk about immortal souls that continue existing post mortem.
